Suspected Drink Driver Arrested After ‘Fail To Stop’ Crash In Sandown

A suspected drink driver has been arrested following a ‘fail to stop’ crash in Sandown last night (Friday).

Police were called to the Broadway at 10.10pm.

A Vauxhall Corsa and an MG had collided. The driver and the Corsa did not remain at the scene, police say. 

No one was seriously hurt.

Officers say they later stopped a vehicle on Morton Common, Brading.

There, a 20-year-old man was detained on suspicion of drinking driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

UPDATE

Police have since charged a man.

Levi David Stevens, aged 20, of Sassoon Place in Waterlooville, has been charged with drink driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He has been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on March 29.
