Street Party At Sea As Red Funnel Passengers Celebrate Platinum Jubilee

The Jubilee weekend has seen people across the UK celebrating 70 years of the Queen's reign — none more so than a clutch of fortunate Red Jet passengers.

Festivities aboard the Red Falcon vessel featured passengers and staff members indulging in Jubilee themed sweet treats as they crossed the Solent between Southampton and East Cowes.

Members of the royal family have been regular visitors and residents of the Island throughout history, with Queen Elizabeth II herself visiting Cowes on the final stop of her Diamond Jubilee tour in 2012, as well as in 1965, 1987 and 2004.

Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:

“This year’s platinum Jubilee weekend is the perfect occasion to celebrate all things royal, and what better place to do so than on the Isle of Wight?

"(The Island) is a place steeped in royal history and the seaside setting for several royal visits.

"We wish all our guests a wonderful visit, and hope they enjoy the celebrations on offer over this special festive period.”
