Newport ran out comfortable winners against East Cowes Vics in the Wessex League First Division last night (Tuesday).
In front of a crowd of more than 230, it was Newport who ran riot at Beatrice Avenue.
Goals from Aaron Burford, Jordan Browne and Joe Craig put Newport 3-0 up inside the first 30 minutes. Burford doubled his tally just minutes later, before Jake Wright added a fifth goal before half-time.
It was Vics who scored first in the second half when Toby Snow slotted home to make it 5-1.
Despite Newport captain, Martin McDonough, being sent off, The Port extended their lead through Joe Butcher who made it 6-1.
Newport's win leaves them 2nd in the table, two points behind Bemerton Heath Harlequins, with a game in hand. Vics stay 17th.
This Saturday (29), Newport travel to Romsey Town, while Vics are away to Infinity.
