Shanklin Football Club Stalwart Presented With Special Medals

A stalwart, who has dedicated his life to Shanklin Football Club, has been recognised for his commitment.

Roger Harvey's long and indebted service to the game started in the 1960s as a player, later volunteering as an official with Shanklin, which included a period as the club secretary.

Mr Harvey still attends as many games as possible, and watched on this season as Shanklin recorded an historic league and cup double.

A spokesperson for Shanklin FC said:

"We are incredibly proud of our club stalwart, Roger Harvey, who received two medals for his 50 years of service to the development of football in Shanklin."

"Without people such as Roger, football wouldn't be where it is today, and his dedication to Shanklin has laid the foundations for the success we have today."
