Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to hold a press conference at 5pm to discuss new coronavirus measures.
It comes after The Times last night revealed that England is set for a second national lockdown.
The PM will be joined by chief medical officer for England Professor Chris Whitty and chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance.
Everything except essential shops and education settings could be closed under the new measures, the Times reports.
Tougher regional measures are also being considered, according to the newspaper.
Boris Johnson is chairing an emergency Cabinet meeting this afternoon ahead of his press conference.
