Saharan Dust Cloud Turns Isle Of Wight Sky Burnt Orange

A Saharan sandstorm has descended on the Isle of Wight, turning the sky - and cars - burnt orange.

A dust storm from the Sahara, caused by Storm Celia, has blown across the Mediterranean to the UK.

It already hit parts of France and Spain yesterday (Monday).

On the Island, it has resulted in orange skies and sandy rain falling and landing on cars.

The Isle of Wight Met Service said the outbreaks of rain are expected to last most of the day.

"Our office skylight is showing it very well indeed along with a strange orange hue in the sky. Even small accumulations on vehicles too!

"The dust will clear away over the next few hours as much fresher, clearer air moves in from the northwest, however the outbreaks of rain will last most of the day."
