Ryde Town Council Announces Winner Of New Clerk Award 2021

Ryde Town Council has announced the winner of its New Clerk of the Year Award.

Lisa Dyer has won the award.  She began her new position as Town Clerk in the midst of the pandemic and despite the challenges faced she has helped transform the Town Council.

Lisa is described by colleagues as dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of people in Ryde and the town's economy.

The SLCC’s Annual Awards celebrate Clerks who have excelled in the early stages of their career.

Mayor of Ryde, Cllr Michael Lilley said:

“This award is much deserved, congratulations Lisa! I am overjoyed and proud that Lisa Dyer has been given the national recognition she so richly deserves in being awarded the title of National New Clerk of the year. She has kept Ryde going through the worst pandemic in the world and supported her amazing staff team
while developing and growing the council in impossible circumstances.

"Ryde is not only buzzing but economically and socially growing, and Lisa and her team deserve much praise. It’s a proud day for Ryde and the Isle of Wight as Lisa is a local woman who has done so much good.”
