Ryde Teens Arrested After Crash Involving Police Vehicle

Two teenagers have been arrested following a crash involving a police vehicle near Ryde.

Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to the Upton crossroads, in the Ashey area, at 6.15pm last night (Sunday).

A collision occurred between a Ford Fiesta and a police vehicle. 

Officers say two 17-year-old boys from Ryde were arrested on foot in Upton Road a short time later.

One was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, and possession of cannabis.

The other was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, and for being a pedestrian failing to stop when directed by a constable.

The Fiesta did not remain at the scene and has yet to be found, according to police.

Both boys remain in custody at this time.
