Ryde School Students Working From Home After Rise In Covid Cases

Two year groups at Ryde School are being asked to work from home due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Queen's Road school wrote to year 10 and 11 parents on Wednesday evening (29).

It says the move is 'precautionary' because of the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the year groups.

Head Master Mark Waldron said:

"We are closely monitoring the current situation and this was not an instruction to isolate, merely a precautionary measure to allow a four day break for those Year groups.

"Parents, staff and parents have, as always, been asked to remain vigilant in protecting our School and the wider community".

Students have also been asked to take a lateral flow test before returning to school.

Affected pupils and staff switched to online learning.

Children in both year groups are asked to remain home until Monday (4).
