Ryde Harriers Start Compete Again With Excellent Results!

Ryde Harriers are competing again on the Island and mainland and have had some fantastic results!

The group does local runs at Freshwater and the Needles as well as on the mainland at Kempton Park, Trafford and North Devon’s 78.6 mile 15,500ft technical trail assent race.

Gary Marshall, won Sunday's Needles Half Marathon, with a time of 01:19:11, Andrew Mcewen in 01:41:31 and Craig Robins in 01:47 minutes. 

Peter Jolliffe raced in at 00:27:38 at the Freshwater 5km on the 6 June. 

Sasha Levrier was the fourth lady overall in the North Devon Coastal challenge coming in with a time of 21:23 minutes. 

Sasha said :

“Last weekend saw a welcome return to racing for me, even if I was just using it as a ‘practice run’ to test my gear out. It was a race of long climbs, steep descents and technical trail and a path that turned into a river for about a mile.”

Four of our Harriers: Elain Parry, Samantha Fancourt, Ken Beak, and Brian Warren took part in the Queen Elizabeth half Marathon on the 23 May - both women coming in at 02.34 and the gentlemen at 02.35 minutes.   

Holly Newton ran at Kempton Park on the 30 May, coming in at 03.24.13 and was the tenth lady.

 Holly said:

'It is only my 3rd ever marathon and I know I’m fit enough with the time and miles I put into training. So, roll on London Mazza in October.’  

Harry Mcluckie came in 9th overall in the 5000m at the Britain Milers Grand Prix race at Trafford.

 Adam Tuck achieved great results achieving 00:16:33 minutes in the 5K reunion race and 00:34:09 in the 10km Renaissance race. 

Callum Gillett had time of 00:15:37 in the Prestwold 5k run
