As previously reported, a second water leak was discovered on Clarence Road yesterday (Monday).

The company says it is a ‘small leak’ and no Islanders are without water.

Repairs will be carried out at 7pm.

The road will not be closed and temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Resurfacing works, meant to finish on June 9 were delayed again last night (Monday) because of the weather.

Local councillor Karl Love is concerned about the roads being unable to cope with the vast amount of traffic in recent weeks.

Other leaks can be seen in Clarence Road, Castle Street and Adelaide Grove.

Here are some of the pictures of the impact of the resurfacing works and traffic.

A spokesperson for Southern Water told Isle of Wight Radio:

'We’re monitoring a small leak on the water main in Clarence Road, close to last week’s burst location. However, because this leak is small and no customers are without water, we’ll be able to repair it without the disruption caused by last week’s emergency works.

'Therefore in conjunction with Island Roads, we’ve planned to carry out the repair after tomorrow night’s rush hour, after 7pm. In addition, we won’t need to close the road, but will be able to work safely with two-way traffic lights in place'
