Reduced Service On Red Jet Over The Weekend

Red Funnel's Red Jet will continue to operate on a reduced timetable following a fault with one of the vessels.

Red Jet 4 was removed from service on Monday (4).

High pressure alarms were activated on the starboard engine. Engineers have been working hard to investigate and resolve the issue.

Leanna Lakes, Operations Director at Red Funnel, said:

“On Monday, Red Jet 4 was removed from service after high pressure alarms were activated on the starboard engine. Our engineers have been working hard to investigate and resolve the issue.

“Whilst work is still ongoing and, to provide certainty for passengers making travel arrangements, we will be extending our reduced timetable on Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Monday 31st January. Our Sunday sailings will remain as scheduled.

“We encourage customers to plan ahead by checking the live departures on our website, clicking on the ‘Service Status’ link to check their desired departure time. Customers may also consider using our vehicle ferries as an alternative option, which are currently running to timetable, although we remind customers that we are operating out of our temporary berth (Berth 25) in Southampton. We are continuing to offer a shuttle service between Southampton Terminal 1 and Berth 25. For more information see here: www.redfunnel.co.uk/januaryworks

“We apologise for any difficulties this may cause to customer journeys and are working towards resuming our normal timetable as quickly and as safely as possible.”
