Dog Found After Long Search In Ventnor

A dog has been found by good Samaritans after escaping from its home in Ventnor.

An appeal had been put on Facebook to locate Coffee - a Toy Poodle dog.

The appeal had been shared across social media last night and this morning (Saturday), as his owners became more and more concerned about his whereabouts.

Locals took to the streets of Ventnor to find six year old Coffee, who was last seen along Leeson Road.

To the delight of owners, Paul and Marjo Nicholson, Coffee was spotted by Isle of Wight Radio’s Jamie White and his girlfriend, Megan, running down the road before turning into a steep driveway and garden.

Another extensive search resumed for two hours, before Megan found a scared and tired Coffee, with Marjo, tucked away in the corner of a garden of a B&B on Leeson Road.

The family only moved to the Isle of Wight yesterday.

Marjo said:

“Thank you so much to Megan and Jamie, and everyone else who joined in with the search. Megan is a real superstar for finding him!

“Coffee escaped last night around 5pm when we were unpacking and moving things into our new house.

“Thank you so much to the people of the Isle of Wight! Coffee is now home, safe and happy.”

Marjo’s daughter-in-law, Steph, said:

“We cannot thank everyone enough for all your help in looking for him.

“We are astonished at how many people were so willing to give up their Saturday to help look for Coffee, it’s absolutely heart warming.

“We are so relieved to have the little rascal safely home. What an amazing community there is here.

“Thank you to everyone involved in the search and for all your well wishes.”
