Premier League Footballer's Lockdown Message For Isle Of Wight Watford Fan

EXCLUSIVE: Premier League goalkeeper, Ben Foster, has sent a special lockdown message to a devoted Watford fan on the Isle of Wight.

Ken Grillo has been following the Hornets for more than 60 years and can be often seen proudly wearing a Watford shirt.

Ken is well known to people on the seafront between Shanklin and Sandown, with his beach hut decorated in Watford memorabilia. Flags, matchday programmes, posters and pictures cover the walls.

Before lockdown, Ken - who is now in his 70s - was still travelling to matches.

And when word of Ken's support reached Watford goalkeeper, Ben Foster, the stopper decided to reach out.

Foster, a former England, Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper, sent a personal video message down to the Isle of Wight.

The 37 year old saw pictures of Ken's Watford-themed beach hut and heard about his loyal support.

Foster said:

"I've heard and seen pictures of Ken over in the Isle of Wight. I love the photos of Ken in the hut with all the flags and memorabilia.

"Once we are back playing, I'll get a shirt signed by the lads and get it sent down."

Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, Ken said:

"I've been a Watford fan for many, many years - through all the ups and downs.

"There's a few of us on (Watford fans) the Island, but not many.

"It's wonderful that Ben Foster took time to sign some pictures and send me the video message. It really means a lot.

"I'm looking forward to getting back up to Vicarage Road to watch Watford again, as soon as we are allowed."
