Police Appeal After Lorry Door Causes Damage To Car

A lorry door swung open and damaged a passing vehicle on the Isle of Wight, prompting a police appeal.

According to Isle of Wight Police on Facebook, a white 7.5 tonne lorry was driving along Calbourne Road towards Newport yesterday afternoon (Thursday) at around 3pm.

After passing the Sun Inn, the rear door to the lorry swung open and stuck a passing vehicle causing significant damage.

Police believe the lorry driver was unaware of the incident as they did not stop at the scene.

If you believe you were the driver of the lorry, you're urged to get in touch with police so insurance details can be exchanged.
