One Off Teachers Charity Football Match For The Wight Brainy Bunch

A one off 'teachers' football match is going ahead to raise money for an Isle of Wight charity.

Cowes Sports FC will host the game, which will be the first of its kind, between Secondary School and Primary School teachers.

PE teacher at The Bay Secondary school and semi-professional Cowes Sports player Gareth Bricknell told Isle of Wight Radio, The Wight Brainy Bunch is the chosen charity because it forms part of his fundraising before he runs a London marathon in October.

The Wight Brainy Bunch provides a support network and financial assistance to local families affected by Brain Tumours.

There will also be live music, food and a raffle at the event next month (July).

The match kicks off at 11am on Sunday July 11.

Entry is £3 for adults and £1 for children.

If you are a teacher and would like to be involved or a spectator who'd like more information please contact Gareth via email ([email protected]) or by telephone (01983 409121).
