A kitchen fire on the outskirts of Cowes has closed Newport Road this afternoon (Monday).
Fire crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident in a bungalow shortly after 3pm.
One person was evacuated and taken to hospital. Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
Newport Road is currently closed in both directions.
Fire crews have since stood down.
