An incident in Newport High Street has led to gridlock traffic in the town.

Southern Vectis routes 1,2,3,5,7,8,9,12 are suffering delays as a result.

UPDATE:

Isle of Wight Radio understands a 'medical incident' happened in the road.

UPDATE:

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust told Isle of Wight Radio:

'We can confirm that 1 ambulance attended a call to Pyle Street this afternoon and they brought 1 person back to St. Mary’s Hospital.'
