New Isle Of Wight NHS Trust CEO Takes Up Role

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust's new CEO says he's "honoured" to be taking up the role from Maggie Oldham.

Darren Cattell has started work as Chief Executive, four years after joining the Trust.

As first reported by Isle of Wight Radio, Ms Oldham is seconding to support other NHS organisations.

Mr Cattell has vowed to continue her work. He said:

"I have seen first-hand the incredible work that our teams, supported by our partners, have done to improve our services, protect people during the pandemic and to put the people who use our services first.

"It was fantastic to be able to celebrate the recent publication of our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report with so many of our staff recently.

"We are now focused on delivering the next phase of our improvement journey, working with our partners on the Island and across the Solent, to make sure that people receive the best possible services which are both clinically and financially sustainable.

"I look forward to working with our partners, the community and our teams in the months and years ahead."

Following the announcement of her departure last month, Maggie Oldham said:

“It has been an honour to work so closely with you during the last four years. I am tremendously proud of everything we have achieved together, especially delivering the improvements highlighted by the recent Care Quality Commission report.”
