National Trust’s Easter Egg Trails Bringing Adventure In Nature To Isle Of Wight

Children can enjoy the excitement of Easter egg trails at National Trust locations on the Isle of Wight this month.

There’s plenty of fun and discovery as families can see the signs of spring, and experience nature bursting into life at Mottistone Gardens, The Needles Old Battery, Newtown National Nature Reserve, and Bembridge Windmill.

From creating wild art to decorating with spring colours the trails have been designed to tickle the senses and immerse little ones in the natural world and heritage of the Island.

Each National Trust Easter adventure in nature trail ends with a chocolate egg, made in the UK using cocoa responsibly sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.

All trails are £3 plus normal admission, which includes a chocolate Rainforest Alliance Easter egg.

Here’s what’s happening over Easter at National Trust places around the Island:

Mottistone Gardens Easter Activity Trail (11 – 24 April)

Help build a giant bird nest for children to enter, learn the songs of the birds with the interactive bird song tree and discover the textures and smells of the garden.

Easter Activity Trail at the Needles Old Battery (15 – 18 April)

Help ‘decorate the Battery' with spring colours with a giant blackboard, make friends with a beetle at the lighthouse shaped bug hotel, and track the bats.

Easter Activity Trail at Newtown (15 – 18 April)

Use your journey stick to create a story with natural materials. Be a hedge detective, follow the path of the hedges, find the wild animals at the end of the trail and the cosy homes where the tiniest animals live.

Easter Activity Trail at Bembridge Windmill (14 – 17 April)

See the Island’s remaining windmill, make your way along the trail, finding nature-inspired activities for the whole family and identify which animals have passed through from the tracks they left.

Details of your nearest National Trust Easter adventure are available online.
