More Isle Of Wight COVID-19 Deaths Recorded

Over the past month, 15 people have died at St Mary's Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

Since September 1, COVID-related deaths at the hospital have jumped from 160 to 175.

The number reflects how many people have passed away at St Mary's since the start of the pandemic.

Three people died earlier this week - two people on Sunday (26) and one person on Monday (27).

A further 138 people have also passed away in the Isle of Wight community, since the start of the pandemic. ONS figures show one death came at the hospice in the week to September 17.

It takes the total number of deaths, related to COVID, to 313 people.

As of last Tuesday (21), there were 21 patients in the Island's hospital with the illness. Two people were in a mechanical ventilation bed.
