Met Office Issues Heavy Rain Warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across the Isle of Wight from tomorrow afternoon (Sunday).

The warning, which is in place from 2pm tomorrow until 7am on Monday, says persistent rain could lead to localised flooding and travel disruption.

The Met Office said persistent rain, heavy and possibly thundery at times, will move across southern and southwestern areas of England and parts of south Wales through Sunday afternoon, persisting into Monday morning, before easing.

Between 20 and 40 mm of rain is likely to fall but a few places could see 60-80 mm over this period, including 15-25 mm within an hour.
