A man has been taken to hospital after being hit over the head with a bottle in Cowes.
Police were called to Denmark Road to reports of an assault invlving two men last night (Friday) at around 7.30pm.
Hampshire Constabulary says a man in his 40s was taken to hospital to be treated for head injuries.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
'We were called at 7.20pm last night (Friday 18 June) with reports of an assault in Denmark Road, Cowes.
'It was reported that a fight took place between two men, during which one of the men, aged in his 40s, was hit in the head with a bottle.
'He was taken to hospital for treatment for head injuries, but these are not life-threatening.
'Enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.'
