Man Suffers Head Injuries After Being Seriously Assaulted In Sandown

A man has suffered head injuries after being seriously assaulted at a property in Sandown.

Police were called by the Ambulance Service just after 4am yesterday morning (Sunday), to reports of a man with a head injury on George Street.

Police said the incident happened at an address on Fitzroy Street.

On arrival, a 26-year-old man was located with injuries to his face and head. He was taken to St Mary's Hospital for treatment.

A 26-year-old man from Ryde, and a 25-year-old man from Sandown, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. They have been released on police bail.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

"On arrival a 26-year-old man was located with injuries to his face and head. He was taken to St Mary's Hospital for treatment.

"A 26-year-old man from Ryde, and a 25-year-old man from Sandown, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. They have been released on police bail.
