A 29-year-old man from Sandown has been released today (Thursday), having being arrested as part of an investigation into a stabbing in Ventnor on Saturday night.
Police were initially called to a premises near the High Street at 11.05pm on Saturday (July 23), with a man in his 20s taken to hospital with superficial stab wounds.
The arrested man was subsequently placed in custody on suspicion of causing GBH with intent.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed this afternoon:
"A decision has been made to release the 29-year-old man from Sandown with no further action.
"(This was made) following a number of enquiries, including speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV, and in consultation with the victim in this case."
