A man and a teenager were arrested outside a Newport pub last night (Friday) after reports of a domestic disturbance.
Police were called to Pyle Street shortly after 8.40pm after three people had allegedly been assaulted.
A 38-year-old man was arrested following a litany of indiscretions, with the 17-year-old subsequently assaulting an emergency worker and being arrested.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
"We were called out at 8.43pm last night following reports of a domestic disturbance outside a pub on Pyle Street.
"Three people were allegedly assaulted during an altercation with a man. No injuries were reported.
"A 38-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of common assault, using threatening / abusive words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm or distress and possession of a Class C drug.
"A 17-year-old boy from Newport was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker."
Both remain in custody at this time.
