Legendary Children's Entertainer Timmy Mallett On Isle Of Wight As Part Of Coastline Challenge

Legendary 1980s TV personality, Timmy Mallett, was spotted today on Wightlink’s FastCat vessel.

The former children's entertainer — known for a seven-year stint as host on ITV's Wacaday — was making an early morning trip as part of a challenge which will see him circumnavigate Britain on a solo cycling and painting tour of the country.

Inspired by artists Turner and Constable, the iconic presenter will be travelling 4,000 miles in 100 days.

The entertainer says he hopes to inspire British residents to discover the beauty of their own country by taking 'staycations' this year and spreading positivity about Britain's coastline.

Arriving at Ryde Pier Head, Timmy will be cycling across the Island to Yarmouth, painting scenes along the way.

He’ll then cross back to the mainland to continue his journey around Britain.
