Leaders Romans Group (LRG) has completed the purchase of Isle of Wight estate agent, Hose Rhodes Dickson.

The company - which has been an independent agency for more than 30 years - has today (Wednesday) confirmed that the deal has gone through.

Jeff Hose and Mark Rhodes founded Hose Rhodes in the summer of 1990 and opened the first office in Ventnor, before Richard Dickson joined the team and Hose Rhodes Dickson was founded.

LRG is one of the UK’s largest property services groups, originally formed by the merger of Leaders, Romans and Boyer in 2016, but has since been joined by many other brands and disciplines. Backed by private equity firm, Platinum Equity, it has a network of over 219 branches across the country, employing over 2,600 people.

The three active directors of HRD, Matthew White, Marcus Waldron and Jamie Busby will retain leadership roles within the business, which has eight branches in Ventnor, Newport, Bembridge, Cowes, East Cowes, Ryde, Shanklin and Freshwater.

Marcus said:

“We’re delighted to be joining LRG and look forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength. Ours is a real success story – we’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and we’re even more excited by what our future holds under new ownership.

"LRG is a great cultural fit for us. We continue to be a local company, led by Isle of Wight-based directors, who are committed to serving the local community. Our customers can expect the same high-quality service and values from the same dedicated and knowledgeable team, with the benefit of being supported by one of the UK’s largest and most respected property groups.”

Under new ownership, Hose Rhodes Dickson said it has ambitious plans to strengthen its position within the property market, as well as bringing additional services to the Isle of Wight.

Matthew Light, Group Mergers & Acquisitions Director at LRG commented:

"We’re pleased to have been selected by Hose Rhodes Dickson following a competitive process and look forward to welcoming them into the LRG family.

"The experienced team will now join our ranks and bring a wealth of local knowledge that will be supported by the additional services from LRG, helping each customer on their individual property journey. This move supports both the LRG and Hose Rhodes Dickson growth strategies, and we are all very excited for what is to come.”
