Isle of Wight's Tallulah, 10, Raising Red Nose Day Money With A Little Help From Her Friends

A 10-year-old girl from the Isle of Wight is hoping to raise at least £1,000 by coordinating a series of fundraising stalls along a popular cycle route.

Tallulah is recruiting friends to assist her mission, after raising significant funds last year.

In 2021 she collected £700 for Comic Relief by selling salted caramel chocolate chip brownies from a roadside ‘Shed Shop’ near her home on the Island.

Tallulah said:

"When I was younger, I saw a clip of Comic Relief about a baby that was dying and since then (I've felt inspired to help).

“I was quite amazed because I’ve never accomplished something like (what I did last year) before then.

"I would tell any other children thinking about fundraising to be brave and don’t hold back. The challenge can be a lot of fun, and it is really nice to help Comic Relief.”

A collection of familiar faces will feature in a brand-new sketch released this week to mark the launch of Red Nose Day 2022, which returns on Friday 18 March.

Viewers will see Sir Lenny Henry set out to make an inspirational movie about the wonderful people who make Red Nose Day so special — the amazing fundraisers up and down the country.

But word gets out to some of Comic Relief’s well-known friends and the audition tapes start rolling in. Unfortunately, to Sir Lenny’s dismay, they all take their audition a little too far.

Money raised by Red Nose Day will support vital life changing work in the UK and around the world which includes tackling homelessness, domestic abuse, poverty and mental health problems, all of which have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
