Isle Of Wight Woman Braving Shave In Memory Of Mum

Stacey and her mum, Diane.

An Isle of Wight woman, who has lost three family members to cancer, is braving the shave today (Friday).

Stacey Attrill-Butler, who works at Gully Howard, is having her head shaved in memory of her mother, Diane Attrill.

She died in 2013, following a two year battle with ovarian cancer.

Stacey said:

"Watching my mum go through all the pain of treatment, the after-treatment, the pain and eventually watching her fade away was utterly heart-breaking.

"I was grieving even before she had passed. She was 54 years old. I can honestly say it was the toughest time of my life."

Stacey has also lost her mum's father to lung cancer and her dad's mum to bowel cancer.

Her uncle is now terminally ill with pancreatic cancer.

Stacey, who has already beat her fundraising target of £500, plans to donate as much of her hair as possible.

Proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK. You can donate to Stacey's head shave here.

She will be braving the shave at 5pm at Gully Howard's Newport office.
