Isle Of Wight Steam Railway On Track For April Reopening

The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is on track to reopen its carriage doors next month (April).

From 10am on April 12, the first trains will once again run along the Island's line.

Its Havenstreet refreshment rooms and T-Junction coffee shop will also be reopening, with takeaways served throughout the day

Steve Backhouse, General Manager, said:

"It’s wonderful to be able to begin planning a full season of train services and events. The April 12 is a particularly significant date for us to open as it’s the actual date of our 50th anniversary. A great way to kick off a golden year of events.

"2020 was a tough year for everyone and we’re glad to be able to get back to some ‘normality’ and we’re all looking forward to being open and running trains again.

"The railway prides itself in making a visit here enjoyable and safe. We still have safety procedures in place from last year and will continue to implement these."

The Railway's Train Story Discovery Centre will reopen from May 17.

Online booking will go live on the week commencing March 15.
