Isle Of Wight Sailor's Atlantic Challenge Raises £10k For Charity

Isle of Wight sailor Natasha Lambert's Atlantic challenge has raised more than £10,000 for charity.

The multi-award winning disabled adventurer sailed around 2,800 miles from Cowes to the Canary Islands.

Using her famed 'sip-puff' system, she took part in the ARC 2020, which started in Las Palmas.

The unique and clever system uses open source software, a series of switches, a ram and electronic winches.

Natasha was raising money for the RNLI, The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and The Miss Isle School of Sip puff Sailing.

Accompanied by her dad Gary, mum Amanda and Sister Rachel, Natasha encountered all sorts of conditions including a lightning storm that lasted for two days.

She arrived in St Lucia, on December 11 at 6.30am - 18 days 21 hours and 39 minutes after setting out.

On arriving in the Caribbean, Natasha said:

“This isn't the end, I want to do so much more!”

The total raised by this expedition being £10,029.00 to be split equally by the three charities.
