Isle Of Wight Records Two More COVID Deaths

Two more people have died on the Isle of Wight having contracted COVID-19.

According to latest NHS England figures, one person died at St Mary's Hospital on Saturday (23).

Meanwhile, Office for National Statistic figures show one death at the Island's hospice in the week to October 15.

Since March 2020, 145 people have died in community settings on the Island (in care homes, at home, at the hospice or in other settings).

In hospital, there have been 181 deaths linked to the illness. It means, overall, there have been 326 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic began.

As of October 19, there were 15 coronavirus patients at St Mary's. The number of patients with the illness requiring mechanical ventilation beds stood at five.

Data for COVID patients who have been vaccinated has not been made publicly available by the NHS.
