Isle Of Wight Photographer Takes On Walking Challenge For Mountbatten

An Isle of Wight photographer is stepping from behind the camera to raise money for Mountbatten.

Day Rutherford has set himself the challenge of walking the equivalent of Lands End to John O'Groats - a total of 1,083 miles.

He started the feat on September 13 with the plan of completing 10 miles a day for 15 weeks.

Day said:

"After two successful challenges the English Channel (21 Miles) and Hadrians Wall (90 miles), I have decided to end the year on my biggest walking challenge yet.

"I'm doing it to raise much-needed funds for Mountbatten, but also for a personal challenge too."

Day, who lives in Ryde, added:

"We all have a connection to the Hospice, whether we have needed the service ourselves or have had a family member in need of the service.

"With the current situation and Covid-19 fundraising has been tough this year so all donations are appreciated."

Day managed to complete 84.6 miles in this his week and expects to be finished by Christmas.
