Isle Of Wight Meat Producers Plan Merger

There doesn't appear to be any 'beef' between two Isle of Wight meat producers, who look set to merge.

Nick and Sarah Greeff, who founded Greeff’s Biltong on the Island over 10 years ago, are planning to move to Scotland.

As such, they have found a new home for the business at the Isle of Wight Meat Co. at Cheverton Farm.

The husband and wife duo say the merger is a "very much a natural fit", combining Greeff’s traditional recipes with locally reared beef from Cheverton Farm.

Nick said:

"We are delighted that the business we have built up with our Great Taste award winning unique biltong recipes will now be made from beef with perfect provenance.

"We know our loyal local customers who enjoyed visiting us in Seaview are now going to love popping to a farm location to collect their orders."

Andrew Hodgson, from the Isle of Wight Meat Co., says it marks the next step in the company's development.

He said:

"After a successful first 18 months we have been looking to expand the processing side of the business. The addition of Greeff’s Biltong will open up a new market and opportunities for the business as we move forward.

"The award winning recipes will remain the same but with the addition of our beef it will allow us to make a truly 100% Isle of Wight product."

Greeff’s Biltong will be available through all existing outlets as well as the Isle of Wight Meat Co.’s online shop.
