Isle Of Wight Festival: Platform One Reveals 2021 Wight Noize Winner!

Platform One Music College has announced which band will play the main stage at Isle of Wight Festival 2021.

It was a "tough choice", according to Education Director David Pontin, with the panel managing to whittle the decision down to two acts - JonJo and The Optimists.

But a decision has been made...

Listen below as David reveals who will open the main stage of the festival on Sunday, September 19 is:

The performance has been made possible thanks to the college's Wight Noize initiative.

It was formed to give young Island artists a platform to perform.

David told Isle of Wight Radio:

“It is amazing to be back at Isle of Wight Festival. What an incredible opportunity. Wight Noize this years shows the resilience and talent of young musicians based on the Island.

"The deliberation from the panel was really interesting - as there were so many great projects”

"We have decided to programme very submission on the Platform One Stage with the project JonJo opening the Sunday of the festival on the main stage”

The Optimists will be offered a chance to play on Platform One's stage, which will be based in the main arena of the festival this year.
