Isle Of Wight Darts Star Keegan Brown Aims To Raise Funds For NHS

Keegan Brown

Isle of Wight darts superstar - Keegan Brown - is aiming to raise money for the NHS by raffling off a limited edition shirt.

The former world youth champion is a Medical Laboratory Assistant at St Mary's Hospital - as well as being a professional darts player.

The popular 27 year old has continued to work during the coronavirus pandemic, while also managing to star in the PDC Summer Series, World Matchplay - and World Darts Championship.

Keegan admitted it's been a very tough year for everyone at the hospital, and told Isle of Wight Radio he wanted to do something to support his colleagues.

He's decided to raffle a limited edition, personalised darts jersey to raise money for the Intensive Care Unit and Isolation Ward staff.

He's also received an extra bonus, with darts legend - Phil 'The Power' Taylor - contacting Keegan to donate a signed shirt for the cause.

Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, Keegan said:

"I work in the Blood Science Laboratory, but I wanted to do something for ICU/Isolation Ward to help the staff working in these roles.

"I’m doing it because I would like to show my appreciation and support. I work in the Lab and at times find that overwhelming - so I can only imagine how they must be feeling.

"Having known people that have been treated in both departments they have been full of such praise and admiration for the care they have received."

Keegan has managed to raise almost £500 in the first 24 hours of the raffle going live.

He added:

"I am doing all I can to keep the momentum going. The support is really appreciated."

The raffle tickets are priced at £5 with the draw being made on March 1.
