Isle Of Wight Coronavirus Rate Rises Slightly - But Remains Below National Average

The Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus rate remains below the national average, daily figures show.

Another 15 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded. That is down on yesterday's (Sunday's) total of 34.

The average rate of new cases on the Island, per 100,00, is also slowing.

As of today (Monday), it stands at 149.5. Yesterday, it was at 146.7.

The UK average is 208.6 per 100,000.

The seven-day rolling rate is used to measure patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

Isle of Wight cases since January 1

Of the 6,408 positive results recorded on the Island since the start of the pandemic, 4,539 came last month (January).

Since the start of the pandemic, coronavirus has been mentioned on the death certificates of 208 Islanders.

No new hospital deaths have been recorded since Friday (5).

Earlier Isle of Wight Radio exclusively revealed how 93% of Islanders, aged over 80, have now been vaccinated.
