Isle Of Wight Coronavirus Case Rate Falling - Lowest Daily Rise In Two Weeks

Another 64 cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Isle of Wight - the lowest rise in two weeks.

That number is down on yesterday's total of 138.

Of the 5,593 cases recorded on the Island since the start of the pandemic, 3,914 have come this month (January).

The Island's January case numbers.

Figures released today (Thursday) show the rate of new cases on the Island is continuing to fall however.

The Island's seven-day rolling average, per 100,00, is now at 651.8 - yesterday it was at 710.3.

Just days ago the Island had the UK's fourth highest average rate. It now has the 39th highest.

The rolling rate measures patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

A further five coronavirus patients have passed away at St Mary's Hospital, according to data released today.

It takes the Isle of Wight's monthly (January) death toll, when combined with fatalities in the community, to 43.
