The Isle of Wight have clinched the English Elite Beach Soccer League title.

The Islanders edged out Eastleigh Spitfires on penalties to win the league for the fourth consecutive year, on Bournemouth Beach.

For the Island side this time was even more special for Captain and Manager, Caymen Collins, missing some key players who are playing in the Spanish League - including goalkeeper, Tommy Jackson - who scored on his debut in Spain this weekend and got two assists.

Caymen called upon the youth ranks and the majority of the squad who competed in the Madjer Cup previously at two world youth events. It was those players that battled to victory against a strong and experienced Eastleigh side, led by Joe Maxwell, looking for revenge after defeating Portsmouth 3-1 earlier in the day.

The Isle of Wight never gave up and despite being 3-1 down in the final, the youngsters showed their class battling back with goals from Thomas Grandvoinet and Callum Pye-Poulter to make it 3-3. Dexter Collins - deputising for Jackson in goal - proved to agile and on point from the first whistle.

Featuring several players with international caps, the Isle of Wight held their nerve to snatch the English Elite Beach Soccer League title - with Collins netting the winning penalty.

England international, Tom O’Neil, took the MVP award, while Dexter Collins was named as the Best Goalkeeper.
