There are delays of up to an hour on Wightlink's Portsmouth to Fishbourne route.
The ferry firm is blaming 'technical issues'.
A Wightlink spokesperson said:
"Due to a technical issue, customers may experience delays of up to 60 minutes today on our Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry service. Please continue to check in on time as we work to make up the lost time."
The company has apologised for any inconvenience to travel plans.
