Friday Figures Show Isle Of Wight Coronavirus Rate Continues To Fall

The Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus case rate continues to fall.

The average rate of new cases on the Island, per 100,00, has once again decreased to 383 today (Friday) - yesterday (Thursday) it was at 393.6.

Last Friday (22) it was at 611.5 - and on January 15 it was the fourth highest in the country at 1,167.4.

On January 10, the Island's rate was at its peak - 1,171.6.

The seven-day average rolling rate measures patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

Another 63 cases have been recorded in today's (Friday's) official daily figures.

That is slightly up on yesterday's total of 58.

Of the 6,138 cases recorded on the Island since the pandemic began, 4,459 have come this month (January).

Earlier Isle of Wight Radio revealed that the Island is in a better COVID position compared to other areas in Hampshire.
