Freshwater Independent Lifeboat Welcomes New Sponsor

The crew of Freshwater Independent Lifeboat has welcomed its new sponsor - Solent Spirit - during the last training session.

Solent Spirit is a small-batch rum producer, established earlier this year, crafting a white and spiced rum in Hampshire - and selling on the Island, the Solent shores and nationally.

As part of the wish to create long-lasting and impactful social value, as their first initiative, the company provided crew and volunteers with smart new polo and technical t-shirts.

Chairman Rob McLaren, and Senior Coxswain, Tony Moore, welcomed Patrick Heaps and Matthew Iles, the co-owners of Solent Spirit. After being shown around the lifeboats and introduced to crews, they were treated to a hearty BBQ breakfast.

Patrick said:

“It’s a real pleasure and a privilege to be able to support Freshwater Independent Lifeboat and the remarkable work they do on this beautiful stretch of the Isle of Wight.”

Freshwater Lifeboat's Principle Fundraiser, Rod Adams, added:

“We look forward to a long-lasting and meaningful relationship in the future.”
