Four Golfers, Four Courses - One Day! Isle Of Wight Golf Challenge In Aid Of Charity

Four Isle of Wight golfers are taking on four different courses in just one day to raise money for Mountbatten.

Friends Oli Fleming, Steve Davis, Shaun Sales and Tony Lloyd have set themselves the marathon of completing four rounds of 18-holes at four different golf courses.

They've decided to raise money for the Island's hospice, Mountbatten - a cause close to all their hearts.

On Friday, June 18 they will start at Ventnor Golf Club, before heading to Westridge Golf Club, onto Ryde Golf Club and then to Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club to complete the challenge.

Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, Oli, 39, said:

"The hospice is close to all of our hearts as they have taken great care of our family members in the past. Steve’s father died in the hospice, they looked after him and managed to get him to his wedding two days before he passed.

"Shaun’s granddad finished his life in the hospice as well as other family and friends, and Tony’s grandad passed away in the hospice in 2019. My father was also looked after by the hospice in the days up to his death."

The fundraiser is for an important cause, but the mates will also be having fun.

Oli added:

"We’ve all managed to squeeze a little bit of practice in as it gives us a good excuse to get out and play. Steve has even bought some new clubs especially for the day and has managed to practice every day"

"We will be competing against each other and we will publish the scorecards after. However, the main aim will be supporting each other and finishing the day in one piece."
