Festival Of Heroes Ends On A High As Organisers Confirm It Won’t Return In 2023

The hugely popular Festival of Heroes on the Isle of Wight won’t be returning next year.

Thousands of people have descended on Brading Roman Villa this weekend, for the event.

Cartoon heroes, film stars and a range of characters wowed children - and adults - across Saturday and Sunday.

Understandably, there was heavy traffic in the area at times, despite signs and advisories from the organisers.

But, in a statement today (Sunday), those who run the event have said Festival of Heroes won’t be back in 2023.

The statement reads:

“We want to thank everyone who has attended our event over the past few years, it’s been a wonderful event to put on and be part off which has grown year on year, but unfortunately we have decided to hang up our capes and end on a huge high after this year’s event .

“Festival of Heroes will not be returning after this year. We can only apologise for anyone who got caught up in our traffic today we seem to be a  victim of our own success and despite months of planning one way Road systems in place and lots of parking attendants and lots of fields to park in people think we still didn’t do enough :(

“We can’t thank our hard working characters who have been amazing over the years and all the businesses, volunteers and friends that have helped and supported us over the years and of course Brading Roman Villa who have been amazing allowing us to use their land and facilities. Everyone has helped us raise lots of money for Daisy Chains IW and we hope you will all continue to support our smaller events throughout the year, thank you.”
