Female Witness Sought Following Serious Crash At Apse Heath

Police are "urgently" looking to speak to a female witness in connection with a crash at Apse Heath yesterday (Wednesday).

Two people have been hurt in the collision, which forced the closure of a road for a time.

One person has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, while the other has been taken to St Mary's Hospital.

As Isle of Wight Radio previously reported, officers were called to the two vehicle collision on Winford Road, at Newchurch Cross, at 5.11pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, particularly a female who officers say left the scene before they could get further details.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

"We are seeking any witnesses to this incident.

"We also urgently need to speak to a female witness who spoke to colleagues and subsequently left the scene before we could get further details. If this is you, please make contact ASAP."

The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was also called, alongside police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.

If you have any information call police on 101, quoting Crime Reference Number 44200307003.
