Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot! Temperatures To Soar On The Isle Of Wight

Temperatures are expected to soar on the Isle of Wight over the next few days.

A level three heat alert's in force for the Isle of Wight from midday today - and it's getting hotter.

The Isle of Wight Met Service - and the Met Office - say we should brace ourselves for temperatures in the 30s over the next few days.

The IW Met Service says:

"Hot weather will develop through Thursday reaching up to around 27.c in places which is our level 2 Heat Alert.

"On Friday the temperatures will be even hotter, peaking at around 29.c to 30.c which is a Level 3 Heat Alert although a handful of places could possibly see slightly above 30.c which is a Level 4 Heat Alert.

"Saturday will be another hot day, and although parts of the UK will be somewhat cooler, here on the Island the temperature is likely to be even higher than on Friday with temperatures 28’c to 30’c widely across the Island. That will trigger another Level 3 Heat Alert although a few places towards central and northwestern parts of the Island could see 32.c or even slightly higher triggering a Level 5 Heat Alert!"

The Isle of Wight Council has issued the following advice:
