Exciting Short Story Competition Launches On Isle Of Wight

This month (September) an Isle of Wight charity is launching an exciting short story competition.

The winners of the competition, which is held by Sight for Wight, the charity that supports the visually impaired on the Island, will have their stories made into a podcast that will be read by a celebrity.

Celebrity readers are: Richard Cadell British illusionist, Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle and famed for being the hand of puppet Sooty since succeeding Matthew Corbett in 1998.

CEO of the charity, Lisa Hollyhead said:

“As we do each year, the theme is deliberately broad to allow people to interpret it as they wish; some stories may be sight related, others may be paranormal or indeed your view of the future.

"The competition is not only run in order to provide vital funds for Sight for Wight but also to recognise the wide ranging writing talent here on our Island.”

Chris Cane, Marketing and Events Manager said:

“This is an exciting opportunity for budding Island writers to become published authors with their stories recorded by one of our celebrity readers."
