Employment Opportunities For 20 Young Islanders To Start An Outdoor Activities Career

UKSA has announced new employment opportunities for young people on the Isle of Wight to encourage a career in the outdoor activities industry.

The Island charity, which provides life-enhancing water-based adventures, education, and world-leading maritime training is appealing to those aged 18 years and above to join as Activity Leaders this summer at its Cowes headquarters.

With up to 20 roles available, applicants aren’t required to have any qualifications but need to either live on or have accommodation on the Island.

Successful applicants will receive two weeks training with the UKSA team, providing them with the skills to deliver inspiring activities to young people.

Chris Frisby, director of training and operations at UKSA, said:

“If you’re looking for a new career path and interested in working outdoors, we’d like to hear from you.

“We have a new 136-bed accommodation centre, which is currently in build and opening later this year and will enable an additional 3,000 children and young people to visit UKSA per year."

The activity leader roles will see successful candidates provide excellent customer service to UKSA clients, ensuring the safety of students, supporting the water sports instructors onshore and delivering activities on land.

Applicants need to apply through UKSA’s website, however if this isn’t possible for any reason, you can contact UKSA directly for support to apply.
