Police, coastguards and Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat have been called to an incident in Sandown today (Friday).
Isle of Wight Radio has been told a person was spotted in the water and concerns were raised for her welfare.
The lifeboat crew also attended the incident.
The woman has been left in the care of police.

*A HM Coastguard spokesperson told Isle of Wight Radio:
"At just before 11am today, Ventnor and Needles Coastguard Rescue Teams, the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent, Sandown Independent lifeboat and Hampshire Police responded to a report of a person in the water at Sandown.
"The person was escorted from the water by the police and taken into police custody."
